I am really excited to talk about my new relationship with the people at Earth Day Arkansas. They have decided it’s really important to have a focus on kids and the environment and I’m proud to say I get to help them spread the word! That means that I’ll be sharing the message about Earth Day and the environment with kids all over the state. Earth Day is April 22, 2009 if you didnt already know that. The Arkansas Earth Day festival is April 25, 2009 at Riverfront Park in Little Rock. PLEASE make plans to be there and support everyone. CG Kidz will have a booth there and so will CynerGreen. It’s a really cool day with alot of really cool people, activities and fun for everyone. In the next week I’m going to write about what happens on Earth Day, at the festival and how you can get more involved. To learn more you can also visit their website www.arkansasearthday.org

Green Tip #2 …Paper or Plastic?
My Mom and I have collected a ton of reusable shopping bags last year! We are making a new, new year’s resolution to not just keep them in the car but to ALWAYS have one available. We are also adding them to our website for sale soon. Always remember your bags too…. Did you know if you go grocery shopping once a week, in five years you will have kept anywhere from 250 to 1000 grocery bags out of landfills?? REFILL, NOT LANDFILL!
Green Tip #1 – Tree Recycling
Christmas Tree Recycling – does your town have a special way to recycle Christmas trees? In some towns and cities, there are special designated tree recycling stations. You can take your tree there and take home a bag of great smelling mulch for your yard! Some neighborhoods even have a tree pickup service. To find out more, call your waste management company. Don’t see your tree hauled off to a landfill – reuse it!
