In September I was given a special gift and got to go to GREENBUILD in Phoenix to spend time with other environmental youth leaders as part of a USGBC group. 

I met so many talented people from Youth Speaks and the other USGBC Youth Leaders.  We had the amazing experience of seeing Al Gore speak but most importantly, we were brought together as a group to work for change in our communities.  The name of our group is PARADIGM… Poets and Activists Reimagining a Dynamic Inclusive Green Movement.  Wow that’s a mouthful! 

We are working independently in our communities now towards one goal of creating awareness and making a difference.  I’ll get to reconnect with them again in April in Washington DC at Youth Speaks.  To see who they are follow some of the links below.  Check out Carvens Lissaint!  He’s an incredible poet… his videos are on his Facebook page…

It started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia.  Over 2 million homes and businesses turned off their lights for one hour.

By 2008, it had become an international event with over 50 million people in 35 countries taking part.  The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and the Coca Cola sign in Times Square became dark for one hour.

Earth Hour 2009 is a call to all the people of the world to turn off their lights for one hour.

Earth Hour 2009 is Saturday, March 28, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
